Key Responsibilities
- Review and revise the Punjab Infectious Diseases (Prevention and Control) Act (2020) for compliance with IHR and NPHEM standards.
- Conduct legal vetting to ensure constitutional consistency and alignment with federal and provincial laws.
- Participate in consultations with stakeholders, providing expert advice on legal reforms.
- Draft updated legislative frameworks that strengthen surveillance, coordination, and emergency response.
- Support validation workshops and provide guidance on operationalisation and sustainability of the revised Act.
Required Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in Law, Public Law, or related discipline.
- At least 15 years of professional experience, preferably in legal reforms and constitutional law.
- In-depth knowledge of Pakistan’s legislative frameworks, federal-provincial relations, and governance structures.
- Proven record of advising governments on complex legislative processes and public health-related laws.
- Familiarity with IHR (2005) and public health legislation is an asset.
