Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs while ensuring dignity and respect.
- Support patients with eating, drinking, and nutrition, including documentation where required.
- Provide emotional support to patients and families, fostering a safe and caring environment.
- Record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (training provided).
- Assist in clinical procedures including wound care setup, catheter support, pressure area prevention, and mobility aids.
- Maintain and prepare clinical areas, beds, and equipment for safe use.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and administrative staff to ensure effective patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare or care support role (hospital, care home, community, domiciliary).
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
- Ability to follow clinical instructions and escalate issues appropriately.
- Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
- Physically capable of performing moving and handling duties.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) desirable.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and patient confidentiality protocols.
